After an awesome flight up and along the great Kali Gandaki gorge (the deepest in the world), land at Jomsom airport to begin trekking north-north-east towards Lo-Manthang, prime town of Mustang, immediately south of the Nepal-Tibet border. With very little precipitation, the land in the upper regions is largely barren, dry and windy, much like Tibet. The trail is wild, rugged, sometimes dangerous but still hauntingly beautiful. After visiting border areas north and east of Lo-Manthang, we descend south going through some of the most remote villages and monsteries you could ever see to finally get back to Jomsom for your flight back to Pokhara, then Kathmandu
